Irfon Valley school nestles in the foothills of the Epynt Mountains near to the bustling market town of Builth Wells, home of The Royal Welsh Show. The school is blessed with a wonderfully picturesque setting and grounds.
The school is an English medium school where Welsh is taught as a second language. Almost all the children come from homes where English is the main language spoken.
The grounds are extensive, comprising two playgrounds and large grassy play areas, which are continually being improved, enabling children to participate in a wider range of activities at break times. There are sports pitches and hard standing areas for traditional games such as hopscotch or just to run around.
Irfon Valley School is an English Medium Community Primary School with, approximately 50 full time children on roll, aged between 4 – 11 years and up to 14 part time children in our designated setting for three year olds.
At Irfon Valley School we are committed to the following key principles:
At Irfon Valley we continually strive for a learning environment that provides stimulation, structure, breadth of experience, focused application of skills and the opportunities which encourage children to reach their potential with confidence and enthusiasm. We foster an atmosphere of mutual respect and value all individuals within the school community. The school is a happy, caring community that seeks to maintain a close partnership with the home.
By keeping to our principles, we believe we have successful pupils and a successful school.
